“길 위에 자란 숲” by 바드
(Google & Bing translation: “Forest Grew Up on The Road” or ” Grew Up The Woods on The Road” by Bard)

I’d attempt to explain what kind of band they are, but the best way to understand a band is to listen to their music, yes? Their video came up in a Youtube playlist created by CJ E&M Music, and I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful live performance.
A few articles written on the band:
Korea Times - “Citizens Can Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day” by John Redmond
Blog post - “Bard: A Journey to the Eire” by The Wiz of the Widz
“걸어온다” by 정진운
(Translation: “You Walking Towards Me” by Jinwoon Jung)
I cannot for the life of me find a music site that sells this brand new, limited single (1,000 copies)! Jinwoon is one of the four members of the band 2AM, and has composed his first single.
“Uff Teri Ada” sung by Shankar Mahadevan & Alyssa Mendonsa
This original soundtrack was directed by the trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy for the 2010 Bollywood movie “Karthik Calling Karthik.” I first heard this song from a wedding video my friend was tagged in on Facebook. The visuals and background music blended well and I instantly took a liking to the song.
“Kailan” cover by MYMP (Make Your Mama Proud)
The title literally translates to “When.” This acoustic cover by Filipino band MYMP was drawn from the 1990 national hit by Filipino band Smokey Mountain. The first time I heard of MYMP was in 2010, three years after their lastest album release, when Korean singer Taeyeon of SNSD mentioned on radio in April 2010 that “Whenever, Wherever, Whatever” by MYMP (also a cover from Maxwell’s original) was one of her favorite songs. MYMP plans to release another album this year.
Tinariwen - Cler Achel
I discovered one of my favorite bands of all time about three days ago and I wanted to share one of their songs here. I’ve ended up buying all of their albums and I’m completely obsessed with their beautiful music. My favorite album is the one that this song is on, Aman Iman. I hope you love it too :)

Ayo - Ayala Ingedashet
איו– איילה אינגדשט
This is my favorite :)
“행복해요” by 스토니스컹크 (Stony Skunk)
Korean Reggae’s more popular duos, Stony Skunk, was made up of members Skull (real name Cho Sung-jin) and Kush or S-Kush (presently known as e.Knock). “행복해요,” translated as “I’m Happy,” was released before Skull left to serve a mandatory 2.5 years in the Korean military. Skull is now an solo artist whose remixed 2007 US debut single “Boom Di Boom Di” ranked in the Billboard Hot Singles chart, opening up a new following of US fans, while e.Knock (real name Kim Byunghoon) stayed with their former record company YG Entertainment in South Korea as a producer and songwriter.

“We Are Africa” by Bisso Na Bisso

This group of French singers and rappers were my introduction to African hip hop. Wait. What?
After some researching, I learned that the members live in France, but are originally from Congo Brazzaville. Their compassion for their native country is shown through not just their music but also their activism in African politics and humanitarian aid to African countries.

My eyes quickly caught this purple-haired Japanese artist while I watched the red carpet for this year’s MTV Video Music Aid Japan. She was also one of the featured artists in their video promo.
